Additional Info: Monoclonal antibodies to glucagon and oxyntomodulin were developed in collaboration with the Fred Hutchinson Antibody Technology Core. Mice were immunized to peptides HSQGTFTSDYSK and AQDFVQWLMNT. Both GCG and OXM hormones are derived from the same precursor protein, proglucagon. Oxyntomodulin contains the entire sequence of glucagon with an additional C-terminal extension. This mAb was generated against sequences present in both GCG and OXM and the antibody recognizes both hormones.
